Why SEO investment often produces nothing

Two failure modes account for most wasted SEO budget. The first is technical: a site that search engines cannot crawl efficiently, or that buries its commercial pages behind thin navigation, will not rank no matter how much content is added.

The second is intent. Ranking for informational terms produces traffic that never converts. If your reporting shows sessions rising while enquiries stay flat, you are almost certainly winning the wrong queries.

What we actually do

We audit first and act second. That means establishing what the site can currently be found for, what it should be found for, and what is technically preventing the gap from closing.

From there the work splits into three tracks: fixing technical constraints, building pages that match commercial intent, and earning the authority signals that let those pages compete.

Paid traffic stops the day you stop paying. Organic search is the opposite: the work compounds, and a page that earns its position keeps earning while you sleep.

The catch is that SEO has an unusually high proportion of activity that produces nothing. Monthly reports full of impressions, blog posts nobody searched for, and links from sites no customer will ever visit.

Digetize works on the parts that change revenue: making sure your site can be crawled and understood, targeting the queries that indicate someone is ready to buy, and building pages that genuinely deserve to rank for them.

What the work involves

Inside a SEO engagement.

Technical audit and remediation

Crawlability, indexation, site speed, internal linking, canonical logic and structured data.

Commercial keyword strategy

Query research weighted by buying intent and realistic difficulty rather than raw volume.

Local search

Google Business Profile, local landing pages, citation consistency and review strategy.

Content that ranks

Pages built to answer a specific query better than the results currently ranking for it.

Internal link architecture

Deliberate linking that concentrates authority on the pages that earn money.

Reporting against revenue

Rankings and traffic reported alongside enquiries, so the connection to commercial outcome stays visible.

SEO

SEO questions, answered straight.

How long does SEO take to work?

Technical fixes can move things within weeks. Competitive commercial terms usually take three to six months to show meaningful movement and longer to reach a stable position. Anyone promising first-page rankings in thirty days is either targeting terms nobody searches or is not being straight with you.

Can you guarantee a number one ranking?

No, and neither can anyone else. Google does not sell placement in organic results and no agency controls the algorithm. What we can commit to is the work, the reasoning behind it and honest reporting on whether it is producing results.

Is local SEO different from regular SEO?

It shares the same foundations but adds a distinct layer: Google Business Profile, proximity signals, consistent business information across directories, and reviews. For a business serving a specific part of London, that layer often matters more than anything else.

Do I need to publish blog posts constantly?

No. Volume for its own sake is one of the more expensive mistakes in SEO. A small number of pages that comprehensively answer questions your buyers actually ask will outperform a large volume of thin posts, and cost less to maintain.

What if my site was built badly?

That is common, and we will tell you plainly if the underlying build is the constraint. Sometimes the honest answer is that ongoing SEO spend on a fundamentally broken site is wasted money and a rebuild is the cheaper route.
